I have this set to emergency notifications only, there are no ways to specify any further than that. Daily the app sends notifications for silly, inane news stories that are by no means emergencies or at all important. I need access to transit, weather, safety, and national news alerts. It’s ridiculous my only choice is no alerts or an “emergency” setting that includes alerts like “local chicken restaurant offers free drinks to customers willing to do this dance”

App says I have 5,000 messages when i don’t pending lol

Why does it say I have 4,762 notifications or 490 or some other high number when it should be 1 or 2?

NBC joins the list of leftist fake media like ABC, CNN, and CBS to continual distort the truth and support leftist lies.

I love this app. But, at 6:45 AM I don’t want to decipher a morning weather forecast. I get how everyone is trying to be funny with puns. But, is it going to be warm or cold this week? Please just stop.

Why offer AirPlay if you’re not going to let it play when the device is asleep. It’s essential to the functionality and an easy setting when developing the app. Please fix it.

Live feed not working. Starts “loading” but never plays.

This app goes straight into the commercial previews and shuts off all music that you have playing in the background there’s no way to shut the auto preview off of the video / sound. Super annoying if you just want to read the article.

When are you going to fix this app? It seems you don’t care. It used to be a great app but now I go into the app. It takes a long time to upload and then it sends me a message to open in the app when I am in the app. Also, in the Weather part when you click on weather alerts, it brings you to a list of counties and then when you click on the counties, it brings you back to the list of counties.

Whoever is writing the morning weather push notifications should be ashamed of themselves. They're not even funny or clever, they're just completely cringey. Plus, it's not clear enough what to expect with the weather and requires you to go watch the forecast to have any clue. I can't figure out if there's a way to unsubscribe from Maria's morning notifications, but there should be.

The morning weather puns are wildly irritating. I don’t have time to watch the news in the morning so I have the app to send me the info I need. Please stop sending weather updates with puns. Just tell us what the weather is.

What’s the point of using this app on iPad when there’s no PIP? You can do virtually nothing else while the app is open. Whoever is at fault, whether Apple or NBC, needs to fix this already. Without PIP, this app is pretty much unusable.

I used to love this app when it came to the weather. It was one of the most accurate apps with the little radar and it was very much the same as the actual tv weather report. Now, the radar doesn’t move!!! FIX THIS TEALLY GOOD APP!!!

Been using this app for a while with no issues, then last week the radar map stopped working. While I know radar isn’t 100% accurate, it’s good to know the possibilities for the day and be able to plan accordingly. Please fix it.

This is a good app, but one bug I’ve noticed with it is that the badge number on the app icon keeps increasing each time I get a notification even though I’ve already cleared the alerts in the alerts section within the app. So for example, if in a day I get 3 notifications the app would display a badge with the number 3 and I’d go and clear out the alerts in the app and the badge number would disappear but then when another notification comes in, the badge would display the number 4 instead of 1. So it acts like I still haven’t cleared out the alerts even though I did. UPDATE: Latest update to the app fixes the inaccurate badge bug.

The person doing the social notifications for this app should be embarrassed with themselves, and fired. The morning forecasts are a joke. And not a funny kind either. They are excruciating to read and make no sense. Just tell us, is it going to rain? Snow? Hot? Cold? Boom done. Enough of the let me make these cutesy in case my five year old nephew reads them type of posts! Just give us the damned weather!

The fireworks show needs to be about the fireworks and not the entertaining- it is totally distracting. Keep the entertainers to before and after the fireworks!!!

Maria’s AM forecast is so uninformative and pointless. It used to be a real forecast about the day. It’s so annoying to read I’m thinking I’ll have to disable notifications or delete the app

I like the app but when I click on a Track symbol (hail, lightning, …) the description that shows is blocked by other information. I can’t find a way to move it so it can be read. What’s the point of having the information if it can’t be read?

I used to love this app. I got the new iPhone 14 pro and the app no longer works like it used to. I have it set exactly the same but now I don’t get any badge icons or the daily weather forecast. One of the best features was the daily forecast alert! What happened to this and the badge icons?

The future radar is so horrible shows all this rain coming that never comes. It’s not just one time it’s constant. The time line will show rain say at 4 pm then it changes to 6pm and so on then shows no rain. Horrible app for weather!

I’ve been using this app for quite a while and been happy with it, but the last few weeks it’s been having issues. The weather section won’t load and freezes the whole app. I have had to go the App Store and reload it several times. But today even that won’t work. It is still stuck in weather trying to load the radar map.

Launching the app doesn’t work the first, second, or sometimes the third time. I close it out in between but to no success. If they don’t fix this soon, I will delete the app a never come back. Which will be a shame

I used to love this app. Something happened where it does NOT work when only allowing location services while using the app. In order for the app to work accurately you have to have location services Always Allowed. Why do they need to track me??? A HUGE thumbs DOWN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So this app normally works very well. But as of lately, it does not load the weather on initial open.Every time I open the app, the weather page freezes on a blank page. I then have to go through a continuous cycle of opening and closing out the app for the weather to actually load. This can take anywhere between two and 10 times. It’s really a shame because I love retrieving my weather from this app but it doesn’t work.

This app is becoming worthless. Most of the time it loads frozen and crashes when you try to reload it. Today it has failed to load once after several tries so I’m done (deleting it). Guess I’ll try the local ABC or CBS affiliate instead.

Every time it’s raining or sone weather event your app doesn’t work! Fix it

This app has been my source for news and weather. But in the last two weeks, it simply doesn’t load. Either on Apple iPads or Android cell phones. I’ve had to replace it with the less complete ABC NY app. Sad

Weather app consistently crashes and can’t continue to news regardless of multiple times deleting entire app and reinstalling and resetting my iphone. As of most recent release of this review, problem persists. I have an iPhone 8plus with the most current ios update available. 15.3.1

The app has been freezing constantly. I had to delete and add the app to fix it temporarily but it keeps doing it over and over. Not sure what’s happening to it.

I really wish I could turn off all notifications for sports. I Sports is not a option in the “News Alerts” tab and while Olympics is, I *still* get notifications for it. It’s pretty frustrating to get sports and olympics notifications when I really could not care less. I can’t turn off notifications for the app because I *do* care about getting notifications for NYC news stories because I actually care about those. Good app, otherwise.

App freezes on opening!

It loads quickly and doesn’t use a lot of the iPad power and resources. Logically laid out. Easy to read and navigate.

What designer put this app together and who approved it? It’s useless. The layout is frustrating. All the information is a jumble. The only thing I can think is that it’s optimized for advertising not for users.

I used to love this app and went to it all the time for the weather. A few weeks ago it was updated and since then, there have been a lot of problems. There are times when I got into the app and I cannot access the weather or the news at the bottom of the screen. I’m not sure if it’s a programming issue or what. I really liked the app prior to the update but now I hate it.

I’ve used this app several times a day, every day for weather. This new version has way too much white space and the typeface is light gray - can barely see it. When you click to current day and move to weather by hour the time turns from gray to black but that’s it the cloud showing rain or lightening stays light gray. Plenty of empty space - make the numbers bigger and darker. Boomers are using your weather app - we need bigger, darker numbers!!

Love NBC news coverage especially the local However, your new app is often unable to load, has to many videos on the page, and the information is poorly organized. Many times the news is old or repeated

This app previously had a tab for traffic. Not stories about traffic, but an actual traffic map with color coded roads showing delays, etc. Where did that go???

This was my favorite for news and weather. The new interface and weather graphics are awful. After using this app for years, I’m looking for a replacement.

I have turned off the Olympic notifications in the NBC 4 app but I am still receiving them. Please fix.

They updated this app recently and I don’t like the format of the weather section. If you have it showing the temperature for the day, you can’t see if it is supposed to rain. There is also no general outlook for the current day’s weather. I hope they change the format back.

This app doesn’t respect your notifications choices and bombards your with ton of unwanted notifications. The worst is that when you click on them takes you to unrelated content. Like to want to be the first to break the news without any article written up. I would classify this app as spam news.

They can’t seem to figure out how to get your notification preferences right. I don’t have notifications on for sports or Olympics, yet I have been getting 20 notifications per day about the olympics. Deleted.

In the user preferences, I turned off notifications for stories related to NBC’s coverage of the olympics. Ratings are clearly so poor that NBC has decided to force notifications on users regardless of their expressed preferences; it’s desperate and dishonest - I’m deleting the app. Aside from that issue, there’s very limited content offered within the app, so there’s virtually no point. Plenty of other news apps out there, don’t bother with this one.

Do NOT like new weather app update ! Too many taps, scrolling..to find what I am looking for... do I really care about gibbous moons ? Wind direction? Information is ALL OVER the place ! News app update.... OK ???? Maybe ???? Haven’t decided yet...

No need to watch anything in prime time when they constantly bombard my Home Screen with real time results. Thanks be deleted the app. Hopefully that puts an end to this.
